5、temporaldistributionsofKeywords:agriculturalwaterrequirementinHebeiPlain.ThisinturnlaysthebasisforsurfacewaterreallocationDSSATfollowingthecompletionoftheSNWTproject.DSSATandCOTTON2KcropmodelsareusedalongwithCOTTON2Kcropcoefficientmethodstoestimaterequiredir
6、rigationamountsforwheat,maize,cotton,vegetablesRequiredirrigationamountPan-evaporationcoefficientandfruittreesinHebeiPlain.Thestudyuses20years(1986–2006)ofagronomic,hydrologicandclimateCropwaterusedatacollectedfrom43well-distributedstationsacrosstheplain.Bas
7、edontheresults,wheataccountsforover40%oftotalirrigationwaterrequirementintheplain.Similarly,wheat,maizeandcottontogetheraccountfor64%ofthetotalirrigationwaterrequirement.ThepiedmontregionsofMountTaihanghavethehighestirrigationrequirementduetohighpercentfarm
8、andirrigatedlandarea.ThemonthsofAprilandMayhavethehighestirrigationwaterrequirement,respectivelyaccountingfor18.1%and25.4%ofaverageannualirrigation.Spatialandtemporalvariationsinourestimatedirrigationw
