4、usedsignslike“Noparking”(禁止停车),“WC”(洗手间)and“Airport”(飞机场)arecorrectlytranslated,whereasthesignsthatarerelativelycomplexand/orlessfrequentlyusedinwesterncountrieslike“1stBRIDG”whichrefersto“一大桥”inXiangtanand“JIANGLUSOUARE”whichrefersto“江麓广场”inXiangtanareq
5、uiteoftenwronglytranslatedortranslatedwithoutnormalization.Inconclusion,thequalityoftheC-Etranslationofpublicsignsisnowfarfromsatisfactory.Infaceofsuchacloudysituationofpublicsign’stranslation,thisthesisisaimedatnotonlyshowingandanalyzingthecommonerrorso
