4、inedinconjunctionwithcellproliferation.SomestrainsofLactobacillusgasseri,L.fermentumandL.plantarumexhibitedincreasedIFN-γlevelsandlymphocyteproliferation.Toevaluatetheeffectsoftheseimmunemodulatinglactobacillionhostlifespan,Caenorhabditiseleganswasused
5、asaninvivomodel.Nematodesthatweresuppliedheat-killedlactobacilliasafoodsourceexhibitedobviousdifferencesinlifespancomparedwiththosefedEscherichiacoliOP50.Themeanlifespan(determinedasmeanpercentsurvival)ofwormsfedL.plantarumCJLP133andL.fermentumLA12was1
6、3.89%and13.69%greater,respectively,thanthatofcontrolnematodesafter21days(P=0.036and0.043,respectively).Inaddition,someofsafetyprofiles,includinghemolytictype,gelatinhydrationanddegradationofurea,werefoundtobepositive.Thesenewlyidentifiedlactobacillihol
