2、icpigs.PRCV-AR310wasisolatedfromtheintestinesofanurserypigfromaherdwithendemictransmissiblegastroenteritis.TheAR310isolatewasplaquepurifiedandcellculturepropagated,passedonceinagnotobioticpig,thenusedasinoculumforagnotobioticpigpathogenicitystudy.Eightpigswereinoculated6oronasal
3、lywith2x10plaque-formingunitsofPRCV-AR310.Eightpigsservedascontrolsandreceivedcellculturemedium.Twopigsfromeachgroupwerenecropsiedat3,5,10,and15dayspostinoculation(DPI).Therewasmoderatemultifocaltocoalescingreddishtanconsolidationof60%ofthelungby10DPI.Microscopicexaminationrevea
4、ledanecrotizingandproliferativebronchointerstitialpneumoniacharacterizedbynecrosis,squamousmetaplasia,dysplasia,proliferationofairwayepithelium,mononuclearcellinfiltrationofalveolarsepta,mildtypeIIpneumocyteproliferation,andlymphohistiocyticalveolarexudation.Themicroscopiclesion
5、sweremildby3DPI,moderateby5DPI,severeby10DPI,andmostlyresolvedby15DPI.Nolesionswereobservedintheintestinesofthesepigs.Therewasnoclinicalrespiratorydisease.Controlpigsremainednormalandhadnolesions.PRCVwasisolatedfromthelungsbutnotfromtheintestinesofinoculatedpigs.PRCVwasnotisolat
6、edfromthelungsorintestinesofcontrolpigs.PRCVwasalsoisolatedfromthenasalandrectalswabsofinoculatedbutnotofcontrolpigs.ThefirstisolationofporcinerespiratorycoronavirusinvolvedseroconvertedtoTGEVwithoutshowing137,20(PRCV)wasreportedin1986frompigsinBelgium,clinicalsignsofrespiratory
7、orentericdisease.ISU-andnowPRCVisenzooticinEurope.Anincreasein1-PRCVwasreplicatedinthelungsofexperimentallySeroprevalenceofantibodiestotransmissiblegastro-inoculatedneonatalpigsbutdidnotcausesignificant20enteritisvirus(TGEV)inEuropewithoutclinicalevi-respiratorylesions.denceofen
