2、ntriesfromthetextileandclothingsectors.Thosecountriescovermorethan72percentofglobalexportsand70percentofimportsintextileandclothingsectors.Thecountriescover81percentoftheGrossWorldProduct(GWP)also.Toquantifytheimpactsofcausalfactorsonimportsandexports,wedeve
3、lopedaneconometricmodelandfoundthatfinancialliquidity,endogenousproductionofcottonandthemagnitudeofimportedrawmaterialandintermediategoodsaretheroot-causesofexportoftextileandclothingproducts.While,GDPandexportsoftextileandclothingproductsareprovedasgoodpred

6、yforsomeoftheleastdevelopingcountries(likeBangladeshandPakistan),whichhaveaveryhighdependenceontextileandclothingexports.ThetotalexportvalueinworldclothingtradewasUS$206billionin1999,with63percentsharedbythetop15exportingcountries.Chinawastheworldleader,with
7、16percentofglobalexportmarketshare,followedbyHongKongwith12percentmarketshare,andItaly,UnitedStates,Mexico,Germany,Turkey,France,KoreaandIndia.Inworldtextiletrade,thetotalexportvalueoftextileswasUS$164billionin1999,withthetop15countriessupplying74percentofth
