2、1.TheyarenotsubjecttoformalacceptancebyMemberGovernments.AttentionisdrawntotheCodexStandardsforFoodsforInfantsandChildrenadoptedbytheCodexAlimentariusCommissionthathavebeensenttoGovernmentswithaviewtoacceptanceandwhicharepublishedinthisCodexAlimentariusVolume.G

4、ofsuchfoods,basedonthenutritionalrequirementsofolderinfantsandyoungchildren;.Processingtechniques;.Hygienicrequirements;.Provisionsforpackaging;.Provisionsforlabellingandinstructionsforuse.2.SCOPETheprovisionsoftheseGuidelinesapplytoFormulatedSupplementaryFoods

5、forOlderInfantsandYoungChildrenasdefinedinSection3.1below.3.DESCRIPTION3.1FormulatedSupplementaryFoodsforOlderInfantsandYoungChildrenmeansfoodssuitableforuseduringtheinfant'sweaningperiodandforfeedingyoungchildrenasasupplementtobreastmilkorbreastmilksubstitutes

6、orotherfoodavailableinthecountrywheretheproductissold.Theyarenotsuitableforuseforinfantsbeforethebeginningoftheweaningperiod.Thesefoodsprovidethosenutrientswhicheitherarelackingorarepresentininsufficientquantitiesinthebasicstaplefoods.3.2Thetermolderinfantsmean
