4、itteeonFoodAdditives(JECFA),theestablishmentofanAcceptableDailyIntake(ADI),andtheelaborationofidentityandpuritycriteria.Inthesecondstep,proposalsforthepermitteduseofanadditiveindifferentfoodstuffsaremadebytheresponsiblegovernmentalagenciesorbytheCodexcom

5、moditycommitteestotheCodexCommitteeonFoodAdditivesandContaminants(CCFAC).TheendorsementoftheproposeduseinafoodstuffisdoneinaccordancewiththeGeneralPrinciplesfortheUseofFoodAdditives(CodexAlimentariusCommissionProceduralmanual,6thEd.p.144,1986)whichstates

6、that"Approvalortemporaryapprovalfortheinclusionofafoodadditiveinanadvisorylistorinafoodstandardshould:...(iii)asfaraspossibletakeintoaccountanyAcceptableDailyIntake,orequivalentassessment,establishedforthefoodadditive,andtheprobabledailyintakeofitfromall

7、sources.Wherethefoodadditiveistobeusedinfoodseatenbyspecialgroupsofconsumers,accountshouldbetakenoftheprobabledailyintakeofthefoodadditivebyconsumesinthosegroups."Informationregardingtheprobabledailyintakeisthereforeneeded,especiallyinthecaseoffoodadditi
