2、etyproblemtoallrelevantpartiesasexpeditiouslyaspossible.Thismustbedoneinamannerthatavoidsunwarrantedactionagainstotherfoodsfromthesameorothercountries,whicharenotinvolvedintheemergencysituation.Theglobalnatureoffoodtraderequiresthatthiscommunicationoccurbetweennationsattheappropriategover

3、nmentlevel.2.Thisdocumentprovidesguidanceforusebynationalgovernmentsandregionaleconomicintegrationorganisationsfortheexchangeofinformationinfoodsafetyemergencysituations.2.SCOPE3.ThesePrinciplesandGuidelinesapplytosituationswherethecompetentauthoritiesineithertheimportingand/orexportingco

4、untriesbecomeawareofafoodsafetyemergencysituation,andcommunicationoftheinformationandriskssurroundingtheemergencysituationmustbeundertaken.4.ThePrinciplesandGuidelinesapplytosituationswherethefoodsafetyhazard(e.g.,amicrobiological,chemical,radiologicalorphysicalagent)hasbeenspecificallyid

5、entified.Itmayalsoapplytosituationswherethefoodsafetyhazardhasnotbeenidentified,butrelevantscientificinformationsuggestsalinkbetweenconsumptionofafoodandtheappearanceofserioushealtheffects.5.ThePrinciplesandGuidelinesapplytofoodsafetyemergenciesassociatedwithimportedorexportedfoodorfoodth

6、atmaypotentiallybeimportedorexported.ThePrinciplesandGuidelines1mayalsoapplytosuchemergencieswherefeedingstuffsforfoodproducinganimalsareimplicated.6.ThePrinciplesandGuidelinesdonotapplytoroutinefoodrejectionswhereimportingcountrystandardshavenotbeenmet.ThesesituationsarecoveredintheGuide
