2、eonline3August2004AbstractRecentexperimentalresearchinthefieldofneurophysiologyhasledtothediscoveryoftwoclassesofvisuomotorneurons:ca-nonicalneuronsandmirrorneurons.Inlightofthesestudies,weproposehereanoverviewoftwoclassicalthemesinthecognitivesciencepanorama:JamesGibsonÕsthe
3、oryofaffordancesandEleanorRoschÕsprinciplesofcategorization.Wediscusshowtheoret-icalperspectivesandneuroscientificevidenceareconvergingtowardsthecurrentparadigmofembodiedcognition.Fromthisper-spective,wediscusstheroleofactionandsimulationincognitiveprocesses,whichleadtotheperc
