3、ticularhumansensoryandmotorsystems.Theconsequencesarequitevaried,andresearchersacrossthecognitivescienceshavemadegreatdiscoveriesinlinewiththisprinciple.However,whileweofferthisprinciple,itisnecessarilybroad,andsearchingforasingleunifyingthemehasnotbroughtresearc
4、herstogetherbehindaclearlydefinedendeavor.Ratherthanattempttodoso,weembracethevariationandspecificityinresearchendeavorsacrossthecognitivesciencestoforgeapracticalsenseinwhichembodiedcognitioncanbeausefulparadigmwithinwhichtothinkandwork.Thistopic,TheFutureofEmbodi
5、edCognition,includescontributionsfromeightsetsofauthorscommunicatinghowembodiedcognitionhasandwillinfluencespecificapproacheswithintheirdisciplines.Throughthisformat,thelessonsfromeachcontributioncanbeeasilysharedwithcolleaguesacrossdisci-plines.Astheselessonsconti
6、nuetobeshared,aparadigmthatisofpracticalusewillemerge,anditscoherenceacrossdisciplineswillfollow.Toillustratethepracticalaspectofthisapproach,inthisintroductorypaper,wetakeonelessonfromeachcontributionthatmustbesharedandillustratehoweachlessoncanapplytoasingle,sp
