2、onsomelake’secosystemandeconomybecauseoftheircolonyonvarioussurfacesandhighspread.Ouraiminthisarticleistofindeffectivemeasuresthatlimitthegrowthofzebramussels.InpartI,somefactorsarelistedthatarepossiblyrelatedwithmusselgrowth.InpartII,wedealwiththeeffectofmo
3、rethantenenvironmentalfactorsonmusselgrowthbasedonthestatisticdatatakenfromlakeA.Forthatpurpose,twomodelsareproposed,oneofwhichisbasedonlinearregression,andtheotherisagreysystemmodel.Bycomputersimulations,weconcludethatClandKhaveadesirableeffectonzebramussel
4、s,andCapromotestheirgrowth.Asaresult,aneffectivewaytodecreasethegrowthofmusselsistoincreasetheamountofClandKinapollutedlakeand/or,decreasethatofCa.PartIIIisfocusedonthemodificationofthefirstonepresentedinpartIIbyuseofthedatadrawninlakeB.First,anewmodelisputf
5、orwardinwhichthetimefactoristakenintoaccount.Simulatedresultsshowthat(1)thismodelhasasatisfactoryperformanceintermsofitspredictioncapabilityanditscapabilityofclearlydepictingthefactorsthathavesignificanteffectonthespreadofzebramussels,(2)themodelisrobust(tha
6、tis,themodelisinsensitivetotheparameters),and(3)lakeAisvulnerabletothespreadofzebramussels.Thenafewmorecomplicated,butmaybenearerthereality,nonlinearmodelsarelistedthatareourfurtherwork.InpartIV,thedatafromlakesBandCarecomparedwiththoseinlakeA.Itresultsfromt
7、heenvironmentalsimilaritybetweenlakeAandBthatlakeBismuchlikelytobevulnerable.InpartV,wediscusstherelationbetweenthede-icingofroadwaysnearthelakeandthegrowthofmussels.Basedonit,weproposeasuggestiontothelocalgovernmentthatiseffectivetolimitthegrowthofzebramuss
