5、onlychildsoitwasjustmyfather,mymother,andsometimesmeworkingthere.Iguessthatstartedmeoffinabusinesscareer.IalsopeddledmagazinesfromdoortodoorwhenIwasquiteyoung.IwentintotheArmyimmediatelyaftergraduatingfromhighschool.WorldWarIIwasstillonbutitwasoverbythetime
6、Igotoutofbasictraining.IspentayearintheArmyandwhenIgotoutIwenttoSyracuseUniversityontheGIBill.Idon’tthinkIwouldhavebeenabletogotocollegeifithadn’tbeenfortheGIBill.TheHBSExperienceIthinkthebiggestroleHBSplayedwasininterpersonalactivities.Igottomeetsomepeople
7、whowereverybright.Ihadn’tmetthosekindofpeoplebefore,andIinteractedwiththem.ImetFayezSarofim,andwehadagreatbusinessrelationshipaswellaspersonalrelationshipformanyyears.ThatwasreallythebigcontributionHarvardmadetomylife—therelationshipsandteachingmehowtogetal
