2、nificantlyunderrepresentedinpoliticsandmanagement,thisfindinghighlightsanewchallengeforSlovenewomen:becomingtheirownbosses.TheSmallBusinessDevelopmentStrategyforSlovenia(1996)identifiedwomenasatargetgroupforsupporttodeveloptheirunrealizedbusinesspotentia
3、l.However,todate,therehasbeennosignificantimplementationofthisstrategy.Inthemeantime,accordingtoresearchbyGlas&Petrin(1998),Turk(1994),theshareofwomen-managedbusinesseswithintheSlovenesmallbusinesssectorapproachedthelevelfordevelopedcountries.Thearticlew
4、illdrawuponawiderangeofresearch,whichhasbeenconductedonwomenentrepreneurshipinordertodevelopacomprehensivepictureforSlovenia.Supportfortheirbusinessventuresisfarfromenthusiasticandtheyfacedifficultiesbreakingintothe“old-boysnetworks”insomebusinesssectors
5、.Slovenewomenarealsonotinfavorofestablishingexclusivewomen’snetworksfeelingitisa“ghetto”approach.However,currentpublicpolicyaswellastheprofessionalandbusinessassociationslargelyfailedtoprovideproperassistancetowomenentrepreneurs.InlightofSlovenia’saccess
6、iontotheEuropeanUnionandEUstandards,theauthorsconsideritimportanttofurtherincreaseopportunitiesforwomenentrepreneursandtocreateanenvironmentthatfosterswomen’scontributionstoentrepreneurshipdevelopmentinSlovenia.POVZETEKVzadnjihletihješteviloženskihpodjet
