2、ationanddatablindness.WiththeapplicationofthePyramidicContextualClustering(PCC)andImageTransformationEngine(ITE)componentstotheimagedata,theseissueshavebeenlargelyresolved.Thatistosay,computationalcomplexityanddatalossissueshavebeensignificantlyreducedintimeandseverityre-spectively.Thedata

3、blindness(nopriordomainknowledge)issuewasalsofollowedduringtheexecutionofthesecomponents,withtheindividualcom-ponentresultscapturinganimage’sgenespotdetailverywell.Suchdetailedgenespotinformationmakesfeasibletheacquisitionofagivenimage’struegeneblockstructure.AlthoughneitheroftheITEorPCCg

4、eneratedresultscapturetheentiregenespotsregionsinanimage(exceptinthetrivialcaseofaverycleanimagesurface),theirindividualresultscanbecombinedtosignificantlyenhancethegenespotidentificationprocess.AsdetailedinSection2.5acDNAmicroarrayimageconsistsofseveralmasterblockspropagatedacrossitssurfac

5、e,whichcanalsobeseeninFigure5.2.Inanidealsituation,theseblockswillallbeinperfectalignmentwitheachotherintheverticalandhorizontaldirections,bothinternallytotheblockandexternallyacrosstheslide.Therewillbenorotationorskewwithrespecttotheirglobalpositioning.Theywillnotoverlapeachotherorbesocl
