1、11Conclusions11.1IntroductionTheaimofthischapteristoreviewtheinvestigationreportedinthebook.Themainmotivationfortheinvestigationwastoexplorethechallengesin-volvedwiththeanalysisofmicroarrayimagedatasuchthattheanalysissystemisnotonlyenhancedbutautomated.Theneedtoaddres

2、sthisauto-matedissuebecomesparticularlyimportantasmicroarraysystemsofferhugeadvancementsinmedicaldiagnosisanddrugdiscoveryprocesses.However,currentapproachestotheanalysisofmicroarrayimagesrelyagreatdealonthehumanaspect,criticallyreducingthehighthroughputcapabilitiesoft

3、hesesystems.Recognizingtheimportanceoftheautomationissue(alongwiththerelatedelementsofprocessrepeatabilityandsystemrobustness)particularly,thestudyfocusedondeliveringasystemthatencompassedtheseconceptsthroughout.Fourareasofinvestigationwereidentifiedaskeycomponentsofam

4、icroar-rayanalysissystemandassuchimportantinthecreationofanappropriatesystem.Theanalysisofthesekeycomponentsproducedasetofweaknessesofcurrentanalysissystems,betheyperformance,qualityorconsistencybased.TheseissueswerebroadlydiscussedinChapter2withanexampleanalysispacka

5、gehighlightedtoreinforcetheseissuesinanexistingandpracticalsense.Section11.2reviewstheachievementsinrespecttothekeyissuesashigh-lightedinChapter1.Sincethestudyhaspresentedaprocessthatcombinesthebiologicalandcomputersciencedomains,thesubsequentSection11.3andSection11.4
