3、ture(IS)components)theframeworkoperateswithouttheneedofmanualassistance.TheframeworkshouldperformtheanalysistaskssuchthattheyarecomparabletotheGenePixtypeprocessasdiscussedinSection2.4.However,duetothehighsignalvariabilityseenacrossthetestdataset(whenw

4、orkingdirectlywiththerawmicroarrayimagery),identify-inggenespotscanbecounterproductiveatthisearlystage.Therefore,ratherthanusetherawimage,itissuggestedthatproducingviewsoftheimagedatasuchthatemphasisisplacedoncertainfrequenciesorregionsofinterestwouldn

5、otonlybeadvantageous,butmoreeffectiveintermsoftheoverallgoal.Thismulti-viewanalysisprocessismanagedbytheapplicationoftheImageTransformationEngine(ITE)componenttothemicroarrayimagedata.Inthecurrentimplementation,theITEcomponentgeneratesanimagedesignedtoe

6、nhancethepositionsofthegenespots.Althoughthispositionalinformationispartialinsomeareasofthenewlygeneratedimagesurface,itisfitforidentificationpurposesatthisstage.AswashighlightedinChapter2theCMAframework’sprocessesarede-signedsuchthattherequirementsofman

7、ualinterventionareminimized.Thisdesignconstraintcreatesanon-trivialsearchproblemhowever.Themicroar-rayimagesareembeddedwithgenespotsfortheparticularexperimentalrunasrequired.However,duetothenatureofthebiologicalprocessandthede-siredcaveatofnopriordomai
