3、id/blockdetectioncanhardlybedescribedasafullyautomatedprocessingsystem.TheapproacheshighlightedinJungandCho[114]areScanAlyze[184],GenePix[14],AutoGene[28]andtheapproachfrom[199].Indeed,subgriddetectionisanimportanttaskintheprocessingofanimageandthereforeisrequiredinacompleteframework.P

4、os-siblythereasonforthisproblembeingwidelyoverlookedisbecausethetaskofmappingthesubgridscanatfirstappeartrivialandsuitableasamanualtaskwhencomparedtothetaskofsubgridaddressing.Animagewilltypi-callycontainthousandsofspotsbutonlyafewdozensubgrids.However,sincethecreationofatotallyautomate

5、dframeworkisdesirable,notaskshouldbetreatedmoretriviallythananyotherandcompletelyblindsubgriddetectionpresentsauniquesetofchallenges.InBozinov[33]thetaskofsubgriddetec-tion(ormetagriddetection)isdescribedas“oneofthehardestchallenges.”Aswithspotdetection,withinthischapterthetaskofsubgri
