2、whichlieinmitochondrialinnermembrane.Actingasaprotonpump,itmayreducetheproductionofreactiveoxygenspecies(ROS)inmitochondria,andperformtheprotectivefunctionwhencellssufferfromoxidativedamage.ManyresearchresultsprovethatROSisthedecisiveelementofageing.Theageingofthelivingorganismappearswitht

3、hereductionofmitochondrialadenosinetriphosphate(ATP),theincreaseofROS,thesharpeningofitsdamage,andaseriesofchangesoftheturbulenceofneuroendocrinesystem.Therearemanytheoriesaboutthemechanismofageing,amongwhichtherelationshipbetweenfreeradicalandageingiswidelyattended.RespectingUCP2candepres

4、sthelevelofROS,wesupposethatUCP2mayparticipateintheanti·oxidativedamage,consequentlyperformthefunctionofstavingoffageingbyreducingtheoxidativedamageofmediateROScells.Ontheotherhand,UCP2canreducetheprotongradientsacrossinmitochondriamembrane,SOprotoncanentergrassrootsdirectlyinsteadofpartic

5、ipatinginthesynthesrsofATP,leadingtotheexpenditureofthefreeenergyinelectrochemistrialprotentialenergyrestoredinprotonbyuncouplingoxidativephosphoylation.ThelevelofATPdescends.AStherelationshipsbetweenUCP2andROSandATParestillnotclear,SOaretherelationshipsbetweenUCP2,ROS,ATPandageingrespecti

6、vely,wemakeuseofliversofoldratstobeastheresearchingobjecttoillustratestherelationshipsbetweenUCP2andROSandATPinratsofdifferentageandphysiologicstate,exploretheeffectofUCP2onageingandtrytooffertheoreticalcluesforclinicaltreatmentofthediseaseconcernedwithageing3andstarvingofftheageingoforgan
