4、ormoftranslation.Adaptationisverycreativeinthatitpletelyabandonstheformandcontentoftheoriginalfilmtitleandmakesafreshstartbasedonthecontentofthefilm.Theadoptedfilmtitlehadnothingtodomarizationofthecontentofthefilm,aprocessofreproductionandrecreation.Therefore,thetranslatormustfirstunder
5、standthecontentandthefilmgenresoftheoriginalthoroughlyandprofoundly,andthencreativelyandaccuratelyreproduceit“TheEnglishmanedoountain”foranexample.TheoriginalEnglishtitleisacceptableinformandmeaning,butountain”,andcouldn’tconveytheoriginalcontentandtheme.AndalsotheChinesetitleistoolonga
6、ndviolatesChinesepeople’saestheticstandards.Soanothertranslation“情比山高”“TheCuriousCaseofBenjaminButton”isalsoaverygoodexample,uchbetterthanitsliteraltranslation“本杰明·巴顿奇事”,becauseit’sastoryaboutamanetitlesmakestheaudiencepletelyconfused.Theycannotunderstandthefilmple,if“TheOthers”(小岛惊魂)is
7、translatedinto“其他的人”,itonlymakesuseans.Secondly,forothertitles,literaltranslationmakessense,butitmaybesomeeofthefilm.“LittleChildren”istranslatedinto“身为人母”(AsParents),not“小孩子”,becausethefilmisinfactastoryoftaybringabetterandmoreeye-catchingtranslation.Forexample,“乱世佳人”isbettert
