3、features,origins,andbasictranslationmethod,etc.Theseaspectshavebeenmadeincisivestudiesbyresearchers;however,asthegemofanation’sculture,idiomsshouldhavemoreconnectionwithculture.Itisthecolorfulculturalinformation,nationalflavorandthecharmofalienculturethatshouldbedeeplystudiedandcarriedforwardrely
4、ingonthestrengthoftranslation.AsJuriLotmanmaintains,“nosinglelanguageisnotrootedinaspecificculture;neitherdoesacultureisnotcenteredbythestructureofsomecertainnaturallanguage.”(JuriLotman,1987)Therefore,onecangetamoresatisfyingresultbyconsideringculturalfactorsinthesametimeasstudyingthesourcelangu
5、ageandrenderingittothetargetedlanguage.Fromthisperspective,translatorsshouldnotonlytranslatetheimageandrhetoricdevicesofSLbutalsoitsnationalandlocalflavorandpaymuchattentiontoitsculturaldivergences.Inviewoftheinadequacyandincomprehensiveresearchdoneintheidiomtranslationfieldandthegreatsignificanc
6、eoftheinfluenceofculturalfactorsonidiomtranslation,thepresentpaperwillmakeacomprehensivestudyofEnglishand69Chineseidiomsintheculturalperspective.Inthepresentpaper,theauthorwillelaboratetherelationshipbetweenlanguage,cultureandidiomtranslation,followedbyacomprehensiveanalysisofinfluenceofdiversifi
