2、touseidiomsbecausetheyareconcise,vividandhumorous.Idiomsaretheessenceofcultureineverycountryandtheyembodytherichculturalfeatures.Ifpeopledon’tunderstandtheculturalconnotationreflectedinidiomstheymayhavegreatdifficultyininterculturalcommunication.Thereforeitisn
3、ecessaryforlanguagelearnerstounderstandingidiomsfromaculturalperspective.Thispaperisdividedintothreeparts.Thefirstpartshowspeoplewhatidiomis,whatcultureis,aswellastheirrelationship.ThesecondpartshowsculturalsimilaritiesanddifferencesbetweenChineseandEnglishidi

6、guageslearnerslearnnotonlylanguage,butalsothecultureinwhichlanguageshapesanddevelops.Theprocessofreceivingalanguageisalsotheprocessofacquiringtheculturerelatedsincetheyaffecteachothersodeeplyandwidely.EnglishandChinese,astwoofmosthighlydevelopedlanguagesinthew
