1、PERFORMANCEMANAGEMENTPOLICYTheGoverningBodyofHomertonChildren’sCentreadoptedthisperformancemanagementpolicyon31October2007.APPLICATIONOFTHEPOLICYThepolicyappliestotheheadteacherandtoallteachersemployedbytheschoolexceptteachersoncontractsoflessthanoneterm,thoseundergoingi

2、nduction(ieNQTs)andthosewhoarethesubjectofcapabilityprocedures.PURPOSEThispolicysetsouttheframeworkforaclearandconsistentassessmentoftheoverallperformanceofteachersandtheheadteacherandforsupportingtheirdevelopmentneedswithinthecontextoftheschool'simprovementplanandtheiro

3、wnprofessionalneeds.Whereteachersareeligibleforpayprogression,theassessmentofperformancethroughoutthecycleagainsttheperformancecriteriaspecifiedinthestatementwillbethebasisonwhichtherecommendationismadebythereviewer.Thispolicyshouldbereadinconjunctionwiththeschool'spaypo

4、licywhichprovidesdetailsofthearrangementsrelatingtoteacher'spayinaccordancewiththeSchoolTeachers'PayandConditionsDocument.LINKSTOSCHOOLIMPROVEMENT,SCHOOLSELFEVALUATIONANDSCHOOLDEVELOPMENTPLANNINGTocomplywiththerequirementtoshowhowthearrangementsforperformancemanagementli

5、nkwiththoseforschoolimprovement,schoolself-evaluationandschooldevelopmentplanningandtominimiseworkloadandbureaucracytheperformancemanagementprocesswillbethemainsourceofinformationasappropriateforschoolself-evaluationandthewiderschoolimprovementprocess.Similarly,theschool

6、improvementanddevelopmentplanandtheschool'sselfevaluationformarekeydocumentsfortheperformancemanagementprocess.Allreviewersareexpectedtoexplorethealignmentofreviewees'objectiveswiththeschool'sprioritiesandplans.Theobjectivesshouldalsoreflectreviewees'professionalaspirati

7、ons.CONSISTENCYOFTREATMENTANDFAIRNESSTheGoverningBodyiscommittedtoensuringconsistencyoftreatmentandfairnessintheoperationofperformancemanagement.Toensurethisthefollowingprovisionsaremadeinrelationtomoderation,qualityassuranceandobjectivesetting.QualityassuranceTheheadtea
