1、PERFORMANCEMANAGEMENTPOLICYTheGoverningBodyofHomertonChildren’sCentreadoptedthisperformancemanagementpolicyon31October2007.APPLICATIONOFTHEPOLICYThepolicyappliestotheheadteacherandtoallteachersemployedbytheschoolexceptteachersoncontractsoflessthanoneterm,thoseundergoinginduction(ieNQTs)

2、andthosewhoarethesubjectofcapabilityprocedures.PURPOSEThispolicysetsouttheframeworkforaclearandconsistentassessmentoftheoverallperformanceofteachersandtheheadteacherandforsupportingtheirdevelopmentneedswithinthecontextoftheschool'simprovementplanandtheirownprofessionalneeds.Whereteacher

3、sareeligibleforpayprogression,theassessmentofperformancethroughoutthecycleagainsttheperformancecriteriaspecifiedinthestatementwillbethebasisonwhichtherecommendationismadebythereviewer.Thispolicyshouldbereadinconjunctionwiththeschool'spaypolicywhichprovidesdetailsofthearrangementsrelatin

4、gtoteacher'spayinaccordancewiththeSchoolTeachers'PayandConditionsDocument.LINKSTOSCHOOLIMPROVEMENT,SCHOOLSELFEVALUATIONANDSCHOOLDEVELOPMENTPLANNINGTocomplywiththerequirementtoshowhowthearrangementsforperformancemanagementlinkwiththoseforschoolimprovement,schoolself-evaluationandschoolde

5、velopmentplanningandtominimiseworkloadandbureaucracytheperformancemanagementprocesswillbethemainsourceofinformationasappropriateforschoolself-evaluationandthewiderschoolimprovementprocess.Similarly,theschoolimprovementanddevelopmentplanandtheschool'sselfevaluationformarekeydocumentsfort

6、heperformancemanagementprocess.Allreviewersareexpectedtoexplorethealignmentofreviewees'objectiveswiththeschool'sprioritiesandplans.Theobjectivesshouldalsoreflectreviewees'professionalaspirations.CONSISTENCYOFTREATMENTANDFAIRNESSTheGoverningBodyiscommittedtoensuringconsistencyoftreatment

7、andfairnessintheoperationofperformancemanagement.Toensurethisthefollowingprovisionsaremadeinrelationtomoderation,qualityassuranceandobjectivesetting.QualityassuranceTheheadteacherhasdeterminedthatshewilldelegatethereviewerroleforsomeorallteachersforwhomsheisnotthelinemanager.In
