3、tadecanolcovalentlyboundtothenanotubesurface,havebeensynthesizedbybrominationofthecarbonnanotubesfollowedbynucleophilicsubstitutionusingoctadecanolandsodiumhydride.Scanningelectronmicroscopyandtransmissionelectronmicroscopyimagesshowthatthemorphologiesofthenanotubesarelargelyintac
4、tafterfunctionalization.Thebrominatedcarbonnanotubesandoctadecanolmodifiedcarbonnanotubeswerecharacterizedusingenergy-dispersiveX-rayspectroscopy,RamanspectroscopyandFouriertransforminfraredspectroscopy.Themechanismofnucleophilicsubstitutionwasdiscussed,anditisbelievedthatthereact
