3、ofstede1997).Hisobservationsandanalysisprovidescholarsandpractitionerswithahighlyvaluableinsightintothedynamicsofcross-culturalrelationships.However,suchagroundbreakingbodyofworkdoesnotescapecriticism.Hofstedehasbeendoggedbyacademicsdiscreditinghisworkinpartorwhole.Ontheothersideofthis
4、contentiousargumentareacademicsthatsupporthiswork.Farmorescholarsbelongonthepro-Hofstedeteamthandon’t,mostquoteHofstede’sworkwithunabashedconfidence,manyincludinghisfindingsasabsoluteassumptions.Thispapertakesanin-depthlookatHofstede’sworkanddiscussesbothsidesofthesearguments,thenrecom
5、mendsareasforfurtherdiscussionandresearch.Finallyhisfindingsareappliedtoapracticalenvironmentregardingtwocountries,AustraliaandIndonesia.Afterweighingtheevidence,includingobservingadialoguebetweenHofstedeandhisantagonists,agreaterargumentexistswhichsupportHofstedethanexistswhichdispute
