4、stoveraquarterofthepopulationhaveatleastoneparentwhowasbornoverseas.Peoplefromover140countriesareAustraliancitizens.TheyhaveallcombinedwhatAustraliaistoday–amulticulturalnationmadeupofmanyculturesandspeakingmanylanguages.PotentialmigrantsconsideredAu

5、straliaasaveryattractiveplace,notonlybecauseofitswarmclimateandvastarea(19millionpeopleinanareaof7.72millionsquarekm),butalsoofthefreedomassociatedwithlackofwars,revolutionsorpoliticalpersecution.Comparedtootherdestinations,Australiahaditsadvantages.

6、Employmentprospectsweresuperior,forexample,tothoseinCanadabecausetherewasno‘winterunemployment’.Furthermore,Australiawasseenashavingno‘racialproblems’andforthisreasonwaspreferredoverothercountriessuchasSouthAfrica.Whatisespeciallysignificantisthefact
