4、agreatvarietyoftechnologies,inparticularadvancedprocesscontrolanddiagnosticmethods.Notonlyhasthetechnologyprogressedandnewtechnologyemerged,butourunderstandingofthefundamentalsofunitprocesses,rawmaterialsandproductpropertieshasalsodeepenedconsiderably.Thevariationsintheindustry抯h
5、eterogeneousrawmaterials,andthesophisticationofpulpingandpapermakingprocessesrequireaprofoundunderstandingofthemechanismsinvolved.Paperandboardproductsarecomplexinstructureandcontainmanydifferentcomponents.Therequirementsplacedonthewaytheseproductsperformarewide,variedandoftencon
6、flicting.Thoseinvolvedinproductdevelopmentwillcontinuetoneedaprofoundunderstandingofthechemistryandphysicsofbothrawmaterialsandproductstructures.Paperhasplayedavitalroleintheculturaldevelopmentofmankind.Itstillhasakeyroleincommunicationandisneededinmanyotherareasofoursociety.Ther
