1、浅析英语中的委婉语及翻译英语2046杨梅200407230 摘要：在任何一个社会中，总有一些不能直截了当说出来的话。在人们交流的场合中，有相当一部分词语显示的是轻浮的、粗俗的、或至少是使人难堪的意思。为了避免提到这些禁忌语或减轻这些词语对人感情的伤害，人们创造并使用了委婉语，这也能从中表现出一种文化的特征。在西方社会文化生活中，在许多领域，人们使用委婉语的情况和世界上大多数地区的人们使用的情况一样。但也存在着独有的现象，本文着重介绍了在英语国家中，人们使用委婉语的一般知识和几个特殊的方面，以及探讨了人们使用这些委婉语的原因。委婉语经常被用来避免使人们
2、处于难堪境地，保护私人的情感。在使用有益的和需要的功能的同时，也存在着丑恶的滥用委婉语的现象。这就是人们时常提及的“歁人之谈”或“公众谎言”。总之，委婉语是社会文化、心理的反映，是随着社会的变化而变化的。Abstract:Inanysociety,alwayshasthespeechwhichsomecannotsaystraightforwardly.Exchangesinthepeopleinthesituation,hasquitepartofwordsandexpressionstodemonstrateisfrivolous,vulgar,
