3、ndarddeveloper.AnAmericanNationalStandardimpliesaconsensusofthosesubstantiallyconcernedwithitsscopeandprovisions.Consensusisestablishedwhen,inthejudgmentoftheANSIBoardofStandardsReview,substantialagreementhasbeenreachedbydirectlyandmateriallyaffectedinterests.Su
4、bstantialagreementmeansmuchmorethanasimplemajority,butnotnecessarilyunanimity.Consensusrequiresthatallviewsandobjectionsbeconsidered,andthataconcertedeffortbemadetowardtheirresolution.TheexistenceofanAmericanNationalStandarddoesnotinanyrespectprecludeanyone,whet
5、hers/hehasapprovedthestandardornot,frommanufacturing,marketing,purchasing,orusingproducts,processes,orproceduresnotconformingtothestandards.Itisintendedasaguidetoaidthemanufacturer,theconsumer,andthegeneralpublic.TheAmericanNationalStandardsInstitutedoesnotdevel
