3、ofHalliday'ssystemicfunctionalgrammar2.1SystemicFunctionalGrammar&ThreeMetafunctionsSystemicfunctionalgrammarconsistsoftwoparts:systemicgrammarandfunctionalgrammar,whichareindivisiblecomponentswithinthelanguagetheoryframeworkAccordingtoHalliday,thebasicfunctionofla

4、ngutigeisconcernedwithtwoaspectsmakingsenseofourexperience,andactingoutoursocialrelationships・GeoffThompsonstatesthatmetafunctionsoflanguagerefertoHwecanuselanguagetotalkaboutourexpenenceoftheworld,includingtheworldsinourownminds,todescribeeventsandstatesandtheenti

5、tiesinvolvedinthem.”(GeoffThompson,1996:28).ThesemanticsystemoflanguageinHalliday'stheory(Halliday,1973)iscomposedofthreemetafunctions:ideational,interpersonalandtextual.Theideationalfunctionwhichisdistinguishedintotwogroupsoftheexperientialandthelogicalisaboutthec

6、ontentoflanguage・Itfunctionstoexpressourexperienceoftheexternalworldandtheinnerworldandourexperienceofthelogicalrelationsbetweentwoormorethantwomeamngcomponents.Theinterpersonalfunctionisnalluseoflanguagetoexpresssocialandpersonalrelationsn(Halliday,1973:41).Thetex
