1、ACTIVITYAGREEMENTGUIDANCEVersion7.0一31March2013WhatisanActivityAgreement?1.AnActivityAgreementisanagreementbetweenayoungpersonandanadvisorthattheyoungpersonwilltakepartinaprogrammeoflearningandactivitywhichhelpsthemtobecomereadyforformallearningoremploym
2、ent.Theyoungpersonmayreceiveanallowaneeinreturnforcomplyingwiththisagreement.Whatdoesthisguidancedo?2.ThisdocumentprovidesguidanceonthedevelopmentofActivityAgreementsinScotland・ItexplainswhatanActivityAgreementis,thecontextfordevelopingActivityAgreements
3、,theprinciplesthatshouldbeappliedindevelopingthem,andsetsoutsomekeyoperationalguidelines.Itwasfirstbasedontheresponsesreceivedtothe16+LearningChoices:FirstStepActivityandFinancialSupportconsultationin2008;ithasdevelopedbasedonthelessonslearnedfromimpleme
4、ntation.3.Thisguidaneeformsthebasisofmoredetailedoperationalplansinthelocalpartnerships・Assuch,itisaimedprincipallyatMoreChoices,MoreChancespartnerships,aswellaslearningprovidersandsupportagencieswhoworkwithvulnerableyoungpeople・Itwillbesubjecttoregularr
5、eview.WhydowehaveActivityAgreements?4.CurriculumforExcelleneeaimstoachieveatransformationineducationinScotiandbyprovidingacoherent,moreflexibleandenrichedcurriculumfrom3-18,firmlyfocusedontheneedsofthechildandyoungpersonwhatevertheircircumstancesandwhere
6、vertheirlearningtakesplace.Thisincludesanentitlementtoacoherentseniorphaseoflearningfrom16to18.5.Someyoungpeoplearenotreadyorabletoaccessformallearningastheyreachtheirschoolleavingdate.Theymayfacemultiplebarrierstoparticipation,needsupporttobuildtheircon
7、fidenceandsocialskills,orneedopportunitiestodevelopteam-workingskillsandself-esteem.6.BuildingtheCurriculum3makesitclearthatallyoungpeopleareentitledtoanofferoflearningwhichmeetstheirneeds.Thisincludesanentitlementtoaseniorphaseoflearning.Forthemostvulne
8、rableyoungpeople,non-formallearningwillbethemostappropriatewayofcontinuingtodeveloptheirskillsandthefourcapacities,andprogresstowardsmoreformallearningandpotentiallyqualifications.Thismeansthatnon-formallearningshouldbeasm
