5、SGHDWheelchairProjectBoardinMay2008requestedfundingtoaddresstheMovingForwardReport'scriticismofNHSHighland'spoorexistinginfrastructurefordisabledpatientsinthenorthofScotiand.NHSHighland'sInitialSubmissionincludedarequestforpurposebuiltaccommodationwh
6、ichwould,forthefirsttime,haveenabledallelementsoftheServicetobeco-locatedandwhichwouldhaveprovidedasuitablelocationforwheelchairpatientstobeseenatclinics.ThebuildingwouldhaveaddressedthespecificcriticismsinSection2.2.19intheMovingForwardreportonthepo
7、orinfrastructureforpatientsinNHSHighland.TheproposalwouldhaveenabledthevariouspartsofitsWheelchairServicetobemodernisedandco-located,astheyareintheotherScottishCentres.SincetheInitialSubmissionwasmade,ithasbecomeclearthatthe£16MallocationfortheMoving
8、ForwardReportmaynotbeusedtosupportcapitalbids.AlthoughtheNHSHighlandBoardcouldbeaskedtoprovidecapitaltomoderniseWheelchairServiceaccommodation,thisisunlikelytobesuccessfulgiventhecurrentfinancialpositionanduncertaintyaboutcontinuedcentralrecurringrev
