2、monitoringwarehouseoperations.However,itisdifficulttoupdatedailyoperationsofinventorylevel,locationsofforkliftsandstockkeepingunits(SKUs)inrealtimebyusingthebar-code-basedormanual-basedwarehousemanagementsystems.Inthispaper,RFIDtechnologyisadoptedtofacilitatethecollectionandsharingofdatainawarehou

3、se.TestsareperformedforevaluatingthereadingperformanceofboththeactiveandpassiveRFIDapparatus.Withthehelpofthetestingresults,theefficientradiofrequencycoverrangesofthereadersareexaminedforformulatingaradiofrequencyidentificationcase-basedlogisticsresourcemanagementsystem(R-LRMS).ThecapabilitiesofR-

4、LRMSaredemonstratedinGSLLimited.Threeobjectivesareachieved:(i)asimplificationofRFIDadoptionprocedure,(ii)animprovementinthevisibilityofwarehouseoperationsand(iii)anenhancementoftheproductivityofthewarehouse.ThesuccessfulcaseexampleprovedthefeasibilityofR-LRMSinrealworkingpractice.1.IntroductionDue

6、&DeWit,2005).Therefore,thefulfillmentofcustomers’demandswithgoodqualityproducts,ontimeproductdeliveryandsuperiorlogisticsservicesbecomesdifficulttoachieve.Ingeneral,enterpriseshaveadopteddifferentapproachesformanagingthesupplychainactivitieswhichincludematerialsourcing,productionscheduling,warehou
