5、entionalMRIbraintissuedeformationcompensation,breathingmotioncompensationinliverMRI,intra-modalityinter-modalityregistrationofpre-operativebrainMRItoCTelectrodeimplantdata,andinter-subjectregistrationofbrainMRI.Ourresultsdemonstratethatthenewalgorithmcansuccessfullyregisteri
6、mageswithanimprovedperfor-mance,whileachievingasignificantreductioninrun-time.1IntroductionNon-rigidimageregistrationisplayinganincreasinglyimportantroleinbothclinicalandresearchapplications.Eventhoughthereisalargenumberofregistrationmethodstobefoundintheliterature[2,3],exist
7、ingmethodshaveusuallybeendesignedfororfine-tunedtospecific,mostlysingle-modalityapplications.Inthispaperweproposeaflexibleframeworkfornon-rigidregistrationwhichcoversarangeofdeformationtasksinmedicalapplications.Thisframeworkextendsandgeneralizesapreviouslypublishedmethodbasedo
