3、arningDevelopersandFacultyLibrariansareregularlysoughtoutforreferencingadvicebystudents.However,itwasidentifiedthataresourcesuchasthisreferencingguidecouldbeofimmensebenefitinansweringsomeofthemorecomplicatedqueries.In2003,theUniversity’sAcademicSenatedecided:ThatAcademicSenateapprovetheproposalth

4、attheUniversityadopttheHarvardReferencingSystemasthedefaultreferencingsystemtobeusedintheabsenceofdocumentedFaculty/Disciplinepreferredreferencingtechniques,tobeeffectivefrom2004.(Resolutionth111/03,AcademicSenate19November2003)thTheStyleManualforAuthors,EditorsandPrinters2002(6edition)providesthe

5、mostcomprehensiveinformationonthisstyleandwasusedasthebasisfortailoringthisUniversityofWollongongresource.OtherreputablesourceswerealsoutilisedtoensurethatwemadetheGuideasconsistentandsensibleaspossible.Duetotheincreasingrangeoftechnologies,manynewresources(e.g.podcasts)werenotincludedintheorigina
