5、smayholdforhumansocietyintheformofpotentialfoodproductsandnewmedicines,theyareatriskofbeinglostforever.Withenhancedabilitybothtoidentifywherethesespecies-richareasarelocatedandtotrawlindeeperwaterthanbefore,commercialfishingvesselsarenowbeginningtoreachdownwithnetsthesizeoffootballfields,catch
6、ingeverythingintheirpathwhilesimultaneouslycrushingfragilecoralsandbreakingupthedelicatestructureofreefsandseamountsthatprovidecriticalhabitattothecountlessspeciesoffishandothermarinelifethatinhabitthedeepoceanfloor. Becausedeepseabottomtrawlingisarecentphenomenon,thedamagethathasbeendoneisst
