1、中国英语教育源自19世纪初期来华新教传教士的义学活动，其中以马礼逊学校最具特色。该校开创屮国西式教育的先河，首先引进当时西方社会盛行的教学方法，开启了屮国近代教会教育活动的历史，对中国传统教育融入西方的教育特质起到了积极的推动作用。木文着重对其以英语为教学语言的应用型人才培养的教学模式进行深入的探索，以期能为当代英语教学所借鉴。关键词：马礼逊学校；新教传教上；英语教育AbstractTheEnglisheducationinChinaoriginatedinthefreeeducationinitiatedbytheProtestant
