1、ABSTRACTNowadayspeopleliveintheageofinformationandnewsreportisoneofthemostefficientwaysofspreadingnews．Sportsnews，especiallyNBAnewsreports，isoneoftheimportantbranchesofnewsreports．SinceYaoMingandYiJianlian’SjoininginNBA，moreandmoreChinesepeoplebegintohaveinterestinNBA

2、newsreports．Astheimportantgenre，sportsnewsreportshaveattractedtheattentionoflin鲥sts．ButthepreviousresearchofNBAnewsreportsfocusedonbasketballterms，lexicalitems，stylisticswhiletheappraisalstudyofithasseldombeenmadebefore．Appraisaltheoryismadeupofthreesub-categories：att

3、itude，engagementandgraduation．AttitudeCanbefurtherdividedintoaffect，judgmentandappreciation．Basedonappraisaltheory,thisresearchtriestoanalyzeNBAnewsreportsfromtheperspectiveofattituderesources．Asresearchobjectives，NBAnewsreportshavebeenrandomlyselected舶mChinaDailyandA

4、mericalocalnewspapers-WashingtonPosLLosAngelesandCBS．Andtwosmallcorporahavebeenbuilt：ChinaDailyNBAnewsreportscorpus(CNNRC，40，000tokens)andAmericaNBAnewsreportscorpus(ANNRC，120，000tokens)．Thisstudycombinesquantitativeandqualitativeresearchmethods．Anddatumareextractedac

5、cordingtothemethodofnormalizationfrequency．Withthehelpofanalyticaltools，acomprehensiveanalysisandcomparisonofthetwocorporaismade．Throughtheanalysisandcomparisonofthetwocorpora，theoveralldistributionalfeaturesofattituderesourcesare：positiveattituderesourcestakeupthelar

6、gestproportioninthetwocorpora；Besides，thedistributionofthethreesub—categoriesofattitudeinthetwocorporaissimilar：judgmentvaluestakeupthelargestpartofattituderesources，followedbyaffectandappreciationrespectively；whilethedifferencesVofthetwocorporaare：CNNRCemploysmorejud
