2、riesintheworldhaveattachedmoreattentiononthehealthinformationmanagementthanbefore.Througha-long-termpracticeinthefieldoftheinformatization,thedevelopedcountries,especiallyfortheUnitedKingdom,havebeenawareoftheimportanceofstrengtheninghealthinformationmanagementthatisessenti
3、alforthemodernizationandreformofpresenthealthcaresystem.NationalHealthService,shortforNHS,sharesagoodfameforitswell-organizedhealthcaresystemthatissponsoredentirelybythegovernmentintheU.K..Duetocompletelyfreeservice,nearlyninetypercentofcitizensintheU.K.choosetoreceivethehe
4、althcareserviceprovidedbytheNHS.However,theNHSisa1940ssystemoperatingina21stcenturyworld.Itsefficiencyandservicequalityispulleddownbyoutdatedmanagementandfossilizedmechanismseverely.Underthisphenomenon,theBritishgovernmentlaunchedtwohealthinformationstrategiesandonewhitepap
5、ertodescribeitsviewpointconcerninghealthinformationmanagementsince1998,whichfocusedonpromotingthereformoftheNHSthroughstrengtheningthemanagementofhealthinformationfromthefouraspectsincludinglegislation,standardization,infrastructurearchitectureandeducation.Withtheimplementa
6、tionofhealthinformationstrategiesandotherhealthinformationmanagementpolicies,theBritishgovernmenthasgaveanimportantroleplayedbyhealthinformationmanagementtoleveragethereformoftheNHS,andithasmadeagreatimprovementinthefieldofhealthinformationmanagement.Thispaperisbasedonavari
