3、tateorvarietyofalanguage.ascorpuscollects“natural”linguisticdata---languagethatpeopleusedincommunication,itisaperformance-basedapproach(yang,2002:9).comparedwiththetraditionalapproachestolinguistics,i.e.introspectionandelicitation,thecorpus-basedapproachisconvenientforitcanbeaccessed

4、usingvarioustypesofsoftwarepackages,thuscorpus-basedapproachtolinguisticinvestigationhasshownitspowerfuladvantagestobetterservelinguisticpurposes.sinclairhasclaimedthatthesystematicstudyoflargecorporayieldsinformationaboutlanguageusethatisnotavailabletounaidedintuition:…thecontrastex
