1、AcontrastivestudyofpolitenessprincipleinChineseandEnglishculture汉英礼貌用语的对比研究【Abstract】Withthedevelopmentofsocietyandculture,communicationsbetweenpeoplebecomemoreandmoreimportant.Asweallknow,differentpeopleholddifferentviewsaboutpolitenessanddifferentculturesmayleadtopragmaticdifferences.
2、Becauseoftheculturaldifferences,sometimeswhattheChinesepeopleconsidertobepolitemaynotbetrueaccordingtowesternculture.Asauniversalphenomenon,politenessisobservedineverysociety,whosemainfunctionsaremaintainingsocialorder;maintainingfriendlyinterpersonalrelations;reducingconflictsandmisund

5、languagephilosopherandlinguist,H.P.Grice,whothoughtthatinordertomaketheconversationgoon,weshouldobeysomebasicprinciples,especially“CooperativePrinciple”,bringingaboutagreatdevelopmentintheconceptofconversationalimplicate,thereexistsanotherconcept---thePolitenessPrinciple(abbrev.PP),whic
6、hhasaboveallbeendevelopedbyLeech,afamousBritishlinguist.Inthecentreofthisconceptdoesnotstandtheinformationofaconversation,buttheeffectofwhatissaidonthepeople.2.ThebasiccontentsofEnglishandChinesePolitenessPrinciple2.1.TheoriesofthePolitenessPrincipleReferringtoSearle`scategoriesofillocu
