3、hyspecialtyknowledge,higheraccomplishmentofinformationandhigherEnglishlevel.Amongthem,oralEnglishisveryimportant.ButthepresentEnglishteachinginmiddleschoolsisfarawayfromrealizingthisgoal.InChina,mostmiddleschoolstudentshavepoororalcommunicativeability.“DumbEnglish”
4、isperplexingmostEnglishteachersandstudentsofhighschool.Apartfromtheproblemsteachershave,theenvironmentisalsoanimportantproblem,becauseoftheunawarenessoftheimportanceofspeaking,studentsdon’thaveenoughchancestopracticetheiroralEnglish.Thelackofatmosphereisthemostimpo
5、rtantreasonoftheirpoororalEnglish.Aseveryoneknows,“Practicemakesperfect!”Withoutpractice,howcantheybecomeperfect?Becauseofthat,studentsdon’thavethehabitofspeaking.Whentheyareacquiredtospeak,manyproblemsappear,suchas:theirhandsandfeetaretrembling,thetuneoftheirvoice
6、ischanging,thesentencesareindisorder.Manyofthemjustreciteinsteadofspeak.studentsthemselvesareblamefortheirpoororalEnglish.BecauseoftheactualitiesofChineseteaching,therequirementsoforalEnglisharemuchlessthangrammar,listening,readingandwriting.Somanystudentsdon’tpaye
7、noughattentiontoit.Forexample,whenstudentsareaskedofthefourskills---listening,speaking,16readingandwriting,whichoneisthemostimportant,manywillchoosereadingandgrammarwithoutanyhesitation.Fewstudentswillchoosespeaking.Anotherinvestigationshowsthatonly1%studentscommun
