3、,&Lee,2000),etc.Despitetheextensiveresearcheffortoncontrolalgorithms,itappearsthatthepressureinformationofahydraulicactuatorhasnotbeenfullyutilizedinvehiclepowertransmissioncontrol,largelyduetothehighcostofapressuresensor.Asaresult,mostpracticalcontrollershavebe
4、enlargelybuiltuponthemechanicalsubsystemonly,whileneglectingthedynamicsofahydraulicactuator.Insteadofdirectlymeasuringthepressureoutputofahydraulicactuator,thispaperproposesanindirectalternativetoestimatethepressureoutput:anobserver-basedapproach.Themainthrustof
5、thispaperisthatthepressureoutputofahydraulicactuatoris‘observable’withtheslipvelocitymeasurementofthemechanicalsubsysteminavehiclepowertransmissioncontrolsystem.Inadditiontothereadilyavailableslipvelocitymeasurement,theobserverdesignrequiresthemodelsofhydraulica
6、ndmechanicalsubsystemswhoseaccuracydirectlyimpactstheobserverperformance.Themechanicalsubsystemisphysicallymodeledwithrelativeease.Thecomplexityofthehydraulicactuatordynamicsdoesnotallowaphysicalmodelamenabletoobserverdesign.Instead,systemidentificationyieldsasi
7、mplifiedempiricalmodelofthehydraulicactuator.Actualobserverdesignfocusesonguaranteeingrobuststabilityagainstparametricvariationsandtorqueestimationerrorsthatareboundtooccurinamechanicalpowertransmissioncontrolsystem.Hardware-in-the-loopsimulationstudiesareconduc
