4、adarrayofservicesthatwillassiststudentsindealingwiththesocialandemotionalissuestheybringtotheclassroom,schoolsandcommunitymentalhealthagencieshavebeguntoimplementcollaborativepartnerships(Walsh&Galassi,2002).WalshandGalassiassertedthatifwearetosuccessfullyintersectthecomplicatedin-schoolandout-of-

5、schoollivesofchildren,wemustfocusonthedevelopmentofthewholechild.Doingsowillrequire"collaborationsthatspantheboundariesofprofessionsandagencies"(p.680).ExpandedschoolmentalhealthprogramsareagrowingmovementintheUnitedStates,whichrepresentspartnershipsbetweenschoolsandcommunitymentalhealthagencies.I

6、ntheseprograms,school-hiredmentalhealthprofessionals(MHPs)provideamyriadofservices,whichemphasizeeffectiveprevention,assessment,andintervention(Weist,Lowie,Flaherty,&Pruitt,2001).Thiscollaborativeeffortisintendedtolessentheburdenandliabilitiesoftheeducationalsystemwhileimprovingthefragmentedandinc
