4、buildingmorethan100scorecardsrevealsthatthefinancialandnon-financialmeasuresonaBalancedScorecardshouldbederivedfromthebusiness-unit'suniquestrategy.TheBalancedScorecardprovidesexecutiveswithacomprehensiveframeworkthatcantranslateacompany'svisionandstrategyintoacoherentandlinkedsetof

5、performancemeasures.Themeasuresshouldincludebothoutcomemeasuresandtheperformancedriversofthoseoutcomes.Byarticulatingtheoutcomestheorganizationdesiresaswellasthedriversofthoseoutcomes,seniorexecutivescanchanneltheenergies,theabilities,andthespecificknowledgeheldbypeoplethroughoutthe

6、organizationtowardsachievingthebusiness'slong-termgoals.Manypeoplethinkofmeasurementasatooltocontrolbehaviorandtoevaluatepastperformance.Traditionalcontrolandperformancemeasurementsystemsattempttokeepindividualsandorganizationalunitsincompliancewithapre-establishedplan.Themeasureson
