3、information,sincerandomprimersareused.ThepurposeofthepresentstudywastoevaluateISSRmarkersforassessingthegeneticdiversityofindigenousAnatolianWaterBuffaloesrearedinAfyon,KonyaandSivasprovincesofTurkey,withaviewtoconservationofthegeneresources.RESULTS:T
4、he11ISSRprimerschosenfortheanalysisrevealedatotalof110bands,ofwhich76(69.09%)werepolymorphic.Also,geneticsimilarity,polymorphicinformationcontent(PIC),resolvingpower(Rp)andmeanresolvingpower(Rp),heterozygosity(H)andShannonindex(I)werecalculatedas0.947
5、9–0.9562,0.35±0.20,2.73,0.27,0.18±0.07and0.28±0.11,respectively.CONCLUSION:TheISSRmarkerswerefoundtobepromisingforassessingthegeneticdiversityinbuffalopopulations.PotentialgeneticparameterssuchasPIC,Rp,Rp,HandIwereeffectivelyusedinthisstudy.c2011Soci
