3、susinguptofifteendifferentwindloadingcodesandstandardsfromtheAsia-PacificRegion.Thelow-risebuildingisatypicalsteelportal-framedindustrialwarehousebuildingassumedtobelocatedinaruralarea.Themediumheightbuildingisa48metrehighofficebuildinginatropicalcity.Thehigh-risebuildingis183metresh
4、igh,locatedinurbanterrain.Thedesignwindspeedsatthetopofeachbuilding,andotherwindpropertiessuchasturbulenceintensitywereprescribed.Thecomparisonsshowedvaryingdegreesofagreement.Commentsonthedifferencesaregiven.INTRODUCTIONBetween2004and2007,fourInternationalWorkshopsonRegionalHarmoniz
5、ationofWindLoadingandWindEnvironmentalSpecificationsinAsia-PacificEconomieswereheld.Apracticaloutcomeofthesemeetingswasacomparisonofthewindloadsonthreetypicalbuildingsevaluatedbythevariouswindloadingcodesandstandardsacrosstheregion.Upto15economiesparticipatedinthecomparison.Hopefully
6、,thiscomparisonwillleadtofutureharmonizationofwindloadingspecificationacrossthediverseeconomiesoftheAsiaPacific.Inallcasesthewindspeedsatthetopofthebuildingswerespecified.Windspeedswithaveragingtimesof3-seconds,10-minutesand1-hourwereallspecified,andparticipantsselectedtheappropriate
7、onesaccordingtotheaveragingtimeusedintheirowncodeorstandard.Forthemedium-andhigh-risebuildings,firstmodenaturalfrequenciesandcriticaldampingratioswerealsospecified.Thepaperpresentsthemainresultsofthecomparisonsanddiscussesthereasonsforthedifferences.LOW-RISEBUILDING(Building1)Thelow-
