3、onsonthreebuildingsusinguptofifteendifferentwindloadingcodesandstandardsfromtheAsia-PacificRegion.Thelow-risebuildingisatypicalsteelportal-framedindustrialwarehousebuildingassumedtobelocatedinaruralarea.Themediumheightbuildingisa48metrehighofficebuildinginatropicalcity.Thehi
4、gh-risebuildingis183metreshigh,locatedinurbanterrain.Thedesignwindspeedsatthetopofeachbuilding,andotherwindpropertiessuchasturbulenceintensitywereprescribed.Thecomparisonsshowedvaryingdegreesofagreement.Commentsonthedifferencesaregiven.INTRODUCTIONBetween2004and2007,fourInte
5、rnationalWorkshopsonRegionalHarmonizationofWindLoadingandWindEnvironmentalSpecificationsinAsia-PacificEconomieswereheld.Apracticaloutcomeofthesemeetingswasacomparisonofthewindloadsonthreetypicalbuildingsevaluatedbythevariouswindloadingcodesandstandardsacrosstheregion.Upto15e
6、conomiesparticipatedinthecomparison.Hopefully,thiscomparisonwillleadtofutureharmonizationofwindloadingspecificationacrossthediverseeconomiesoftheAsiaPacific.Inallcasesthewindspeedsatthetopofthebuildingswerespecified.Windspeedswithaveragingtimesof3-seconds,10-minutesand1-hour
7、wereallspecified,andparticipantsselectedtheappropriateonesaccordingtotheaveragingtimeusedintheirowncodeorstandard.Forthemedium-andhigh-risebuildings,firstmodenaturalfrequenciesandcriticaldampingratioswerealsospecified.Thepaperpresentsthemainresultsofthecomparisonsanddiscusse
