3、dloadcalculationsonthreebuildingsusinguptofifteendifferentwindloadingcodesandstandardsfromtheAsia-PacificRegion.Thelow-risebuildingisatypicalsteelportal-framedindustrialwarehousebuildingassumedtobelocatedinaruralarea.Themediumheightbuildingisa48metrehighofficebuilding
4、inatropicalcity.Thehigh-risebuildingis183metreshigh,locatedinurbanterrain.Thedesignwindspeedsatthetopofeachbuilding,andotherwindpropertiessuchasturbulenceintensitywereprescribed.Thecomparisonsshowedvaryingdegreesofagreement.Commentsonthedifferencesaregiven.INTRODUCTIO
5、NBetween2004and2007,fourInternationalWorkshopsonRegionalHarmonizationofWindLoadingandWindEnvironmentalSpecificationsinAsia-PacificEconomieswereheld.Apracticaloutcomeofthesemeetingswasacomparisonofthewindloadsonthreetypicalbuildingsevaluatedbythevariouswindloadingcodes
6、andstandardsacrosstheregion.Upto15economiesparticipatedinthecomparison.Hopefully,thiscomparisonwillleadtofutureharmonizationofwindloadingspecificationacrossthediverseeconomiesoftheAsiaPacific.Inallcasesthewindspeedsatthetopofthebuildingswerespecified.Windspeedswithave
7、ragingtimesof3-seconds,10-minutesand1-hourwereallspecified,andparticipantsselectedtheappropriateonesaccordingtotheaveragingtimeusedintheirowncodeorstandard.Forthemedium-andhigh-risebuildings,firstmodenaturalfrequenciesandcriticaldampingratioswerealsospecified.Thepaper
