3、fwindloadcalculationsonthreebuildingsusinguptofifteendifferentwindloadingcodesandstandardsfromtheAsia-PacificRegion.Thelow-risebuildingisatypicalsteelportal-framedindustrialwarehousebuildingassumedtobelocatedinaruralarea.Themediumheightbuildingisa48metrehighofficebu

4、ildinginatropicalcity.Thehigh-risebuildingis183metreshigh,locatedinurbanterrain.Thedesignwindspeedsatthetopofeachbuilding,andotherwindpropertiessuchasturbulenceintensitywereprescribed.Thecomparisonsshowedvaryingdegreesofagreement.Commentsonthedifferencesaregiven.INT

5、RODUCTIONBetween2004and2007,fourInternationalWorkshopsonRegionalHarmonizationofWindLoadingandWindEnvironmentalSpecificationsinAsia-PacificEconomieswereheld.Apracticaloutcomeofthesemeetingswasacomparisonofthewindloadsonthreetypicalbuildingsevaluatedbythevariouswindlo

6、adingcodesandstandardsacrosstheregion.Upto15economiesparticipatedinthecomparison.Hopefully,thiscomparisonwillleadtofutureharmonizationofwindloadingspecificationacrossthediverseeconomiesoftheAsiaPacific.Inallcasesthewindspeedsatthetopofthebuildingswerespecified.Winds

7、peedswithaveragingtimesof3-seconds,10-minutesand1-hourwereallspecified,andparticipantsselectedtheappropriateonesaccordingtotheaveragingtimeusedintheirowncodeorstandard.Forthemedium-andhigh-risebuildings,firstmodenaturalfrequenciesandcriticaldampingratioswerealsospec
